Families with children aged birth to five have a number of programs that they can participate in free of charge. School District No. 46 (Sunshine Coast) is dedicated to building a ‘continuum of support’ that fosters nurturing, responsive relationships between young children and their families, their communities and their schools so that children and families will thrive and develop an early and lifelong zest for learning.

All School District 46 (Sunshine Coast) Early Learning Programs are offered to ALL families on the Sunshine Coast with children under school age at NO COST to families.

Parents and caregivers on the Sunshine Coast can attend SPARK! and Parenting Classes to receive information and resources for every age and stage!   By attending SPARK!, families with children under five years old can also receive Imagination Library books every month free of charge, mailed right to their homes!

Family Resource Programs are offered in Gibsons, Sechelt and Madeira Park, and StrongStart Family Drop-In is available in all of our Sunshine Coast neighbourhoods!

Early years to kindergarten transitions are supported through a number of programs, including the KinderSPARK! program which takes place in the winter and spring prior to Kindergarten entry!
